LHD > RHD dash conversion ...

Can anybody recommend someone that converts LHD dashes to RHD? NSW preferably, but I'll consider anywhere if the quality is right.

I have a '67 Chev Impala. Australian assembled. Factory RHD. Unfortunately, all the locally assembled models from '65-'69 came with '65 model dash, but they're ugly & sh*t. I'm trying to source a '67 dash from the States to have it mirrored/converted - though they're hard to come by.

My only other option is semi-custom - buy all the individual '67 parts available (gauge cluster, glove box/lid, dash pad etc) and have them make one as close as possible utilising those parts.

Any ideas?

Unfortunatly i do not know anyone to do conversions on dashes but have you considered fitting a Dakota digital dash?
They make some seriously good looking conversions to just about anything.
I have fitted their product to some Camaros, Corvettes and a few hotrods.
Look up their website at www.dakotadigital.com or if you down my way drop by, i have the latest catalog.
You still owe me beer for getting you that Impala...

There were never anything fitted to the 65-8 RHD export cars other then the 65 Chevy Dash as what is fitted to your car.. and remember when insulating is concerned..earthing of switches and lamps is needed on the fibreglass dash bodies, unlike the US LHS Drive Metal dashes.  You may obtain a LHD Dash from Californian based specialised wreckers at Willmington called Memory Lane, and you will be counting your lucky stars the A$ is up..... you will need it.

I reckon the  'art'  of converting that style of dash to RHD is gone.  It's not the sort of thing that gets done anymore.

I have also bought a Dakota dash for Mustang and another recently for 1959 Chev dash for the Cadillac (when I install the Chev dash which is on its way) both via Ebay and you can usually make offers and get them even cheaper.....with the $ being high now is the time. This doesn't solve the problem though as its only the cluster. Maybe try some of the dash restorer companies they may have some leads. When in doubt 'Google'

Probably need a body guy to section the steel dash, then take it to Classic Dashes at Carlton to be padded...they can mold and vacuum cover whatever you like.
