I have been contacted by the Siesta Motel in Albury, there is a big event on the same weekend in Albury.
They proprietor of the Siesta has asked that we please try and organise our rooms as soon as possible as they are holding rooms for all the car clubs attending this weekend.
As you can appreciate we do not want them to hold rooms if they are not going to be filled and they can be taken up by other customers.
:thank: Yvette
-
Would recommend this run to anybody.. at this time of year.. just magic.
One thing.. earlier today had a conversation with an attendee of the Chryslers on the Murray this year.. .. hes a security guard in his 40's.. said that there was a marked or very apparent notice being given to the cars by RTA and Cops on patrol..including the apparent defecting of a Aussie pacer that had nothing more then factory fitted go fast parts on it.. but they knew little and was defected regardless. Anybody know more about this without scaring anyone... hopefully nothing more then trying to patrol for ricers etc..
-
If you are planning on coming to Albury please let us know as soon as possible that you are attending, the Melbourne club are out doing us again with numbers, would be good if we could improve on our attendees seeing that it's our event..... you won't be disappointed with the weekend!
-
I don't know why numbers are low, this is the best event of the year. An easy drive to Albury, meet up with the Melbourne guys & check out each other's cars. A great drive through some beautiful country on the Saturday & a get together that night. Sunday is a nice comfortable cruise home.
-
:exactly: :he:
Just had a call from our buddies in Melbourne, they have put on a challenge, A STATE OF ORIGIN battle to see which club gets the most cars to this event, at this stage we are lagging  there is a total of 22 rooms now booked. So come on members do it you won't regret it :thumb:
Here's what you can look forward to:

-
I've put in for leave, so hopefully I'll find out soon if I can go!
-
We're booked and looking forward to a great weekend. Janne said they only a had few rooms still available this morning 11/4/14 so if you are thinknig of going you may need to book in quick.
-
:way: guys its going to be a good weekend
-
You guys are starting to be like your "State of Origin Rugby League Team" us Mexicans are leading you going to the second half but I notice your starting to claw your way back. The first try state 3 years ago we were easily out numbered by you but we have fought back so what's going on up there? This is I think without doubt the best run of the year from my view, so how about you rallying to support your "State" and get in quickly and fill those remaining eight rooms. Looking forward to see the numbers improving and catching up with you again on the 16th.
-
Ok I'm all booked!
Now all I have to do is book a petrol tanker to drive beside me!
-
Not long now  looking forward to what's always a great weekend.
Everything's coming along fine to ensure the weekend is as good or if not better than previous years :thumb:
Meeting time will be confirmed closer to the event :burnout:
-
Nikki and I booked several weeks ago. At the time we were not sure we could make it but now starting to look good for the trip.
Been to every one before and certainly looking forward to this one. Hope to see you all on the 16th.
Stuart.

:way: look forward to seeing you both :smilies:
-
Good to see the New South Wales fighting spirit has not disappeared and you are fighting back, I think there might be only one if any rooms left. Roll on Fri 16th looking forward to catch up with you guys again and meeting new faces. Without doubt the best event of the year.
-

Yet again another awesome weekend what a blast. A big big thanks to Joe, Yvette and Steve from the Siesta Resort it was just perfect and to all the members that turned up. I must say the female singers on Friday night were spectacular good onya ladies we did well.
-
Home safe and sound hope everyone did the same thanks once again for a fantastic time.
-
:hi: Glad you all got back home safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing more pics :thumb:
-
What a great weekend. Thanks to Yvette & Joe for all the organizing , everything went smoothly for everyone. Steve at the Siesta did a top job with all the local stuff & the observation run was a blast. Alan & Andy took some incredible pics, can't wait to see them. Counting down till next year already.
-
Susan and I are home safe a great weekend good friends thanks to everyone who put the weekend together :way:
-
What a great weekend we only had two insignificant issues out of all the cars that attended the event we had a Mustang from the Victorian club that would not start on the Saturday morning but then started and ran fine later in the day and a Camaro from our club with a starter problem only when hot. Not bad for a bunch of old American gas guzzlers hay
We also had the best weather we have had in the four years we have held the event can't wait for all the pics.
-
Also I would like to thank Kerry for all her help.
-
The weekend was a great success, the members are what makes this run such a great weekend.
There's was plenty of laughs, especially on the Friday night, I didn't know we had so many talented men and women in our club! :rol:
There were lots of awesome shots taken so stay tuned for them to be put in the gallery
:thank: Yvette :burnout:
-
This weekend trip just gets better every year. From Nikki and I thanks to Yvette, Mick, Joe and Lesley for the behind the scenes organising.
Steve from Siesta what can one say his organisation for evening activities and the Saturday cruise and Sunday display was a huge contribution to the success of the weekend.
Great to catch up with old friends and met a few new ones.
The Voice had nothing compared to the Friday night entertainment, what talent especially the MC Sisters group.
Stuart.
:omg:

Thank you too.. chance to go away however short is not wasted on this weekend....like others have said.. thank you to the organisers and Steve from the Albury motel.
The chance to drive out of Albury.. into country Victoria at this time of year..with the ever changing colour of nature is ..well worth taking in .. just wished some of my own family would do the run..it's beautiful.
The trip to the Dartmouth Dam was perfect ..and listening to the history of the former land owner ..how as a kid he'd take the cattle though what is now the bottom of the dam .. a dam 11 times the size of Sydney Harbor is really interesting.. once he started.. I noticed everybody was captivated ... .. witness's to huge historic change like this are hard to come by.. and .. hearing that the entire project was all done with $139 million in 6 years... in the mid 70's.. a time of no internet... no cell phones... no facebook friends - but real ones... of leaded fuel that was being held back by the Saudi's..... and with a expectional safety record.. wow..a different era.... Luckily the country side is still perfect there. Its at 88% now.. and he was saying the spillway will open sooner or later..love to see that live...
The Laurel Hotel.. super neat pub.. so many pictures were taken there, yet from the road.. you'd not give it more then a quick look.. it was full of thick wood, older farming tools.. thick glass doors and a perfect perfect backdrop..
Thank you for putting this on.

What a fantastic 3 days, being my first one, I was very impressed by the whole thing! The food was exceptional, the room/resort was fantastic, the company was lots of fun, the cars were all looking unbelievable! The run of Saturday was funny and Spectacular! oh and I won the "Best in Show" on Sunday!
And I must say, The person who showed the most spirit of the event was Dennis! He impressed me firstly with keeping up with us the whole way up and back! He had the oldest car and pretty much is a standard Mustang. He got lost on the 275km run on Sat. but never complained!

Big thanks to everyone involved, i only knew Craig n Guffer from Melbourne.
However everyone made me feel more than welcome, and for that I certainly thank you. Unfortunately my wife's health prevented her from attending, but im sure she would have loved being there.
I had hoped that a couple of my mates attend also, but im sure that will be looking to attend next year. One of the Wagga guys managed to make it to the show n shine Sunday and expressed a strong desire to attend in 2015.
Again a big thanks to everyone, some excellent pics to come.
