That's why they finally release the incredibly exciting new Camaro (years in pent up demand), and the long running mustang out sells it, just wait until their backlog of orders (around 10,000) peter out, it's artificially inflated for July, August, maybe September, but after that it will be back to normal GM sales!!! Once the backlog stop artificially proping up the numbers, which it will probably do after the next 3 months, it will look pretty stark.
They just released their secret weapon, a Pontiac grill for the new Camaro that'll fix it;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x;x
Now that the US government look like owning GM, they should shortly be getting higher utilisation from their dealers, once they introduce Post Office stamps, dole queue payments and medicaid claims processing.;17

If I ever get it back!
I think the "super Pooper TV remote" and the "Bumbling Bee" and now 67 (fell from) Heven at the track and then Wakefield! It has to be both! Yours is set up for the Drags mine is set up for Circuit! Dont forget REAL street cars dont just drive 400m then pull over and have a rest! (OR maybe thats the case with "Fix Or Repair Dailys")
Also it should be all "Funny Old Rolling Dunnies" V's Tough unrelenting Chevs and Mopars! Because it only seems to be the "Funny Old Ridicules Dudes" making all the noise and beating there chests!
NOW THATS FUNNIER!;17;17;17;17;17

What gives you the impression that mine is built for the 400m? , i have a rrs coil over strut front set up ,set to race as my car is low and can't be soft or it will bottom out , i also have the rrs slotted 4 wheel disc brakes and the rear leaf springs have been re tension with a extra thick leaf spring added and koni adjustble shocks set to hard for the exact reasons as the front , thats hardly a 400m set up , my pony will suprise you around the track, now i have the torque to pull it out of corners , my car is a bit of a allrounder and im not to scared to give it some , ive been around wakefield in it and on the 400m at wsid which is alot more than some others have done , yeh sure ive broken her but that just means i drive hard and have had a bit of bad luck but it won't stop me from having fun , so all this crap about mine being set up fot the 400m is exactly that , how many drag racers use a 3.25 diff ?.......none actually they wouldn' use them on a circuit track either , like i said she's a allrounder , now look for another excuse for why im gunna kick your butt ;16 here is the proof ;16

Ok when you Finley get it back on the road it mite go faster than my stock Trans am but my car will always look faster.;u;u;u
-
The 67 that fell from Heven as you so kindly put it is a absolute pleasure to drive and as smooth as a babys bum at any speed , the 4wheel discs stop it on a dime and with road manners to suit, as a matter if fact been driving it to work nearly every day the past couple of weeks, and unlike some I didnt build it to sit in a shed somewhere so as I can brag how sh!t hot it should be one day, Get a life and drive it! Luv Hev!

Sitting behind your trans am is not an option (unless you want to recycle the fuel coming out of your exhaust )
Hey are either of those cars (Andy,s or the must hang actually on the road ???)
-
NO:(
only because there is a lot of mechanics that talk the talk and not actually know what they are doing, but now its at another location to hopefully fix all the problems? If I had known It would be off the road for a year, when it was only supposed to be a monthish I would have keep it carby fed! And the expense of the mess up has cost me buying tyres for the strip and circuit, so I still have to get those yet too!
And the 68Pony has seen the light partially! After seeing how more cubes are sexy He has tried to emulate the mighty RAT and expand his CUBES!;15
Joe I'm just trying to stir up everyone for the fun of it! I Luv all Musclecars (dont tell the F..D guys that!) Last time I stirred up everyone in the Vette club it became the highest watched thread ever (and still stands!) More people need to get involved because I just dont want to whip the Pony crowd I want total annihilation!
-
Yes i also recall someone going by the name MUSTANGMAN getting on the corvette forums and stiring up some trouble with you andy ;12, hey i know its all in good fun ,I'm not taking it serious, andy and i did something simular to this on the corvette forum, and yes big cubes is better than trying to wring the neck out of small cubes................... but im still gunna kick your butt ,Joe , i though for a sec who's the mistress , then i realised it was lesley................thats a big fish joe..........but it won't save you from me kicking your butt either ;u;u

Pedal Power???

-
Just to clarify one thing when i talk about time slips im not having a go at ya , you don't have to have a fast car to enjoy drag racing , when my car was completely stock it ran 15.4's , i entered my first nastalgia drags and made it to the 3rd round running consistant 15.4's and i was having a ball , i got beaten by the eventual winner that year.
All you have to do is talk to cpu, he had never put is vett on the 400m before and he loved it , you don't have to do the burnouts , I just like getting my photo taken (http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t200/68pony/hmm3grin.gif) all you have to do is line up and go on the green its simple as that ,so if you havn't done it , THEN DO IT
(http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t200/68pony/svHEWITT_wideweb__470x3692.jpg)

CPU (fomerly CPU) doing a 13.3 is still quite good on street tyres.
anyway Fishing I love it when me and the crew are out there tring to catch that BIG one..............Fist we jump in the dingy........

BTW, I've drag raced with 2.69:1 and a 3.08:1 diffs to enhance the torque of the Pontiac V8.

Gee chris must have felt like driving a sack of potato's with those ratios ;x;x;x what time did run.......................WHAT! it still going ;x;x;x
But on a serious note , you can drag race with any ratio , i was just saying there not the ideal drag racing SET UP thats all.;16

When you have an engine that produces REAL torque, it's not a problem.

Yeah, that's right. I gave up on the 'kiddy cars' years ago. If it's not over 2 tons, it's not a real American car.
-
Maybe Bonnevista could make the next Nostalgia drags !
btw i got through to the 3rd round last year ..........i redlighted (actually before i moved the red light came on !)
was beaten by the eventual winner
My car ..........15.3 was my best time .however since then i have actually had the carby tuned, and fitted the hood scoop ,will be at the next nostalgia drags as well
-
Been there, done that. I raced at the first nostalgia drags with my '64 Bonneville. Beaten in the second round.
Also raced the ragtop at the Riverina Drag Racing Club's strip at Narraderra.

Yee ha we finaly have some one with a time slip ;4, maybe ill join you this year ausmonza , its just dam hot in december thats all , but it would be nice if a few of us from the club enter , don't mater how fast you are at nostalgia its bracket racing and all about reaction and consistancy. BTW nothing better than taking your car to the track after doing a modification that's where you will know if it has made a difference , when i worked my 351w first time it ran a 13.8 , then we made a carby change took it to the track ,ran a 13.6 then i tricked up the auto stage 2 shift kit and 3500 stall ran 13.2 then i decided to pull of the single plain race manifold off and stuck on a rpm air gap dual plane manifold ran a 12.8 , you can only do so much on a dyno , the real proof is on the track , now the 408 ,now traction will be the issue , but i still can't wait to take it to the track.
cheers chris.
-
LOL i have several time slips from cars over the years ,drag racing is kind of boring ...............long wait then a trip up the strip followed by another long wait :(
Nostalgia drags were great however as there were many many people to talk to between rounds ,shame that spectators do not appear to like the concept as they are thin on the ground :(
I will be back at the next one and YES it is hot at the creek
I would like to see a few more people come up for the day as it could be a club run..................no one really cares whether the car is a 10 sec car or a 20 sec car ..........its all just fun and stops some of the bs (and creates more )...doesnt matter if your car is 2 tonne and powered by a 455 or 800kg and powered by a 4cyl
great for the chev v ford rivalry as well..................and we can even include trans am supra,s as well

It was stinkin' hot at the first nostalgia drags - they said 38 degrees on the radio, so you can imagine how hot it was down on the drag strip.
It was then I jumped in the old '64 Bonneville Brougham, hit the buttons on the power window to wind them up, started the engine and turned on the air conditioning and sat there between races - left it running most of the day. Oh........sorry, most of your cars would overheat if you did that, oh well.
-
I Luv the Nostagia drags (except last year cause I broke my leg there!) Hopefully IF and WHEN I get my car back, it will suppose to be running cool and I can give it a go and whip the ponys red ass! So hopefully heat wont effect it BUT I hate hot days like that unless of course I'm at the beach!

I love the Nostalgias...great family day with great people.

Forgot to mention, 1st place in the sprints at the 2001 Pontiac Nationals, ran 1/10th slower than my dial in, in my '66 GTO . Also, used to be a semi-regular at the old Eastern Creek on a Wednesday night in the same car. I stopped going, as by the time you bought fuel, paid your entry and bought food, your 3, maybe 4 runs cost about $100 for the evening.

And thats on a good night , ive been there where i only got 2 runs and now it cost $50 just to turn up , who could be bothered , i'd much rather fork out $200 get 40 to 50 people book out the track and race with ya mates all day , take the bbq and make a day of it .
I'm happy to do that 1-2 times a year keeps me satisfied , its also great for testing your launch , you can experiment on what works best , if your keen you could easily do 20-30 runs , most people do 12-15 and then enjoy watching some of the action , much better value when you take into account how many runs you get.
hmmmmmm sounds like a amcca club run maybe ;12

Private tracks days are a much better option.
Thats where Fi cut her teeth on the Drag racing game. No pressure...just have fun.
She started off in the mid 15's...with no burnout, and got it down to a 12.2 as her confidence grew.
I would rather the Private track days and the Nostalgias. Better days...and value for money.
