***IMPORTANT*** Classic Vehicle Log Book Trial
« on: July 25, 2017, 10:32:10 PM »
Dear Members

The RMS are commencing an evaluation process in the lead up to the two year anniversary of the Classic Vehicle Log Book (CVLB) trial.

The log book trial allows classic vehicles to be used for 60 days of general use each year outside of club organised events.  A classic vehicle is 30 years of age or older.  The CVLB trial is an option for vehicles under the Historic Vehicle Scheme and the Classic Vehicle Scheme.

To assist with the evaluation, please respond to the following questions:
1.  Should RMS progress the log book trial to a permanent option or to extend the period to further evaluate the trial?  Why?
2.  Have your club members encountered any issues when using the log book and do you have any feedback relating to benefits with log book usage?
3.  Do your club members have any recommendations on how to improve the log book?
4.  Do you have any additional comments relating to the CVLB trial?

We invite you to provide feedback on the log book trial by 4 August 2017.

The responses to the survey will be taken into consideration when the Minister makes the final decision.   The trial applies to both the Historic Vehicle Scheme (HVS) and the Classic Vehicle Scheme (CVS).  You can respond via the survey link or email below mentioned.

When responding may we suggest:
1.    You take into consideration the fact that the CMC and the ACMC (which covers a very large number of clubs) have not been advised of any issues surrounding the Log Book even though a huge number of clubs and members have taken it up.
2.    You perhaps advise Roads & Maritime that we would like to see a better quality logbook. Possibly on cardboard with logos and some colour; still in A4 format but, folding over to two A5 size pages inside so it follows the same format as the current one.

We appreciate you taking the time in providing a response at your earliest convenience.

:thank: Vanessa (on behalf of the AMCCA Committee)
