FEEL GOOD STORY?
« on: November 03, 2014, 03:07:58 PM »
 :omg:
Our daughter Karen, hubby Sash & 4 of our Grandkids were at Vincentia beach when a nearby 9 year old boy went into cardiac arrest. His Mum was so panicked, her CPR was ineffective while the Father was numb with shock. Sash has a big linemarking business & had seen many serious accidents so was first aid trained. He started M to M & CPR but no results while Karen organised a call to 000 & enlisted a neighbour to assist Sash with the CPR. The ambulance arrived 40 minutes later & Sash had been doing CPR all this time. The Ambos used the defibrillator on Ryan & thought they could feel a faint pulse so called an emergency helicopter. The chopper landed on nearby Huskisson Oval 45 mins later & flew Ryan to Randwick Hospital. Young Ryan survived & though he now has a pacemaker, is doing well. Sash it to be presented with an award for helping to save Ryan’s life.  Though mainly about the efforts of the Ambos, the brief interview and award will be televised on Channel 9, ‘Today Show’, this Wednesday morning 5th.
Regards, Bob & Susan.

didn't see the TV story but what a legend to keep up CPR for 40 minutes is no easy task, its a great thing to have that skill,we all hope we don't have to use it though.Congrats Sash & Karen its a great gift you have given.

Thanks all for the comments. The award presentations were not televised (after the brief interviews). The interview can still be viewed at the 9 website. We're proud of both of them.
