Hello everybody
« on: May 24, 2014, 09:11:13 AM »
Hey Guys,

I'm 19 from Sydney and have recently picked up an interest in American classics, especially the Muscle cars - my main interest is in the Chevrolet El Camino and I wish to own one very soon! If any one has any pointers or anything for an aspiring muscle car owner, hit me up :). Thanks for taking the time to read my introduction and have a delightful Saturday.

Thanks
Jake

Hi Jake and welcome to the forum.. :thumb:
I am a bit of El Camino fan myself. I have owned 6 of them in the last 8 years, five of them I have imported myself and they are all in Sydney.
What is your favourite model? I own a '76 which is my work ute and a '74 SS 454 which is for sale in Carsales. It's the black one with $26500 price on it.
You are welcome to drop by my workshop anytime if you want to have a chat, I am sure I can help you out.

Cheers, Chris.

Hey Chris,

Cheers for the offer! I was originally going to import one myself also, however, I think I may purchase in Australia. I have my heart set on 1978-1984 Models, I do however prefer the 1978 model the most. If I do end up deciding to import one, would you mind if I asked you some questions before doing so? P.S that is a very nice El Camino you have there ;)

Hi Jake,
You can ask anything, anytime. That's what I am here for.
I appreciate you like the later model Elky's however it is a lot more complicated to put one on the road since ADR's change dramatically the later model it is. Besides if it's less than 30 years old than you will have to convert it right hand drive and that opens up a huge can of worms. Engineering rules getting more and more difficult every day so you will find that it will become no longer economical.
Anyways I am ready for your question.  :thumb:

Cheers, Chris.
