Transam getting closer to getting back on the road

Transam came back from Jason at Taren Point on Thursday with a new coat of paint.

Spending the weekend putting the interior back in.

Hopefully will get most of it done.

Then just the engine to get installed.

Butler Performance think approx 450HP and 500NM of torque should come out of it.

Jason rolled the edge in on the guards and tapped the seat belt bulges in so my wider tyres won't rub any more.

Engine bay looks great and the car is shiny.

Woke up early and started working on the car at 8am.

Pushed it out into the sunshine, started cleaning out the interior ready for the install of carpet etc.

Had 2 sections of underlay left to pull up.  Guess what I found.................  Almost lost it this morning.

Now just got to figure out how to fix it.

I want it cut out fully and repaired by someone.

If anyone knows of someone who skilled in doing this type of work please let me know.

Not sure if there is a mobile person who can do the job.

I'm hoping to not have to tow it again.

Not sure if it's a floor pan I have to order.  Doesn't look like a new floorpan goes up the wall where the passengers feet lie.

The first thing I'd do is kick your panel beater in the pants.  If he didn't at least look at the floors of a car this age, he's not paying attention.

 I agree with the above....

As to the floors....you can order partial floor pans, but the piece that turns up at the front is called the toe panel, and no one reproduces it.
You can see if you can locate a good toe panel from a wreck, or have a panel shop make the piece out of stock sheet. Luckily, its not a complex panel.

Sorry, I don't know anyone who does this sort of work on a "mobile" basis.

Panel beater who first took on the project needs to have a swift kick.

the spray painter who finished it for me was tidying up the stuff ups only from the prior bloke.

I think he has done a great job in repairing what was asked.

I found a mobile bloke to do the job.

I'll let you know how he goes in case anyone else needs a welder.

Morning everyone.

Transam had some cutting and welding of the floor pan and firewall last Saturday.

If anyone has some of the same type of work to get done on there cars and it's not driveable, or you just want someone to do the work at your place so you can see what they are doing to your car Andy is the bloke for the job.  He is a mobile welder.

Very good to chat to and he makes sure you take pics in between stages of the job.

I think he did a very professional job on the car.  He did his best to protect the interior as well.

He had 3 sections of the car to cut and weld and did it all with the one floor pan I bought.

Check out the pics.  Took him about 6 hours.  The underside is also welded.

Very meticulous in what he does.
