1969 Camaro Found in Oklahoma Lake
« on: September 19, 2013, 08:38:30 AM »

It’s a scene out of a cold case tv show: two classic cars dredged up on land, six skeletons and one big mystery for the Oklahoma troopers who discovered the cars during a test of the departments new sonar equipment in Foss Lake near Foss, Oklahoma.

Police believe the two cars to be from unrelated accidents, and suspect that the ’69 Camaro holds the answer to the disappearance of three high school kids last seen in 1970. The second car, described by most news sites as “late ’50s” (but looking to us like a ’49 or ’50 Chevy), could be a couple who disappeared near the lake in the early-1960s.

Obviously we’re fascinated by the cars, but the real story here is that some mourning families will finally be able to have answers to questions that have lasted several decades, and to put their relatives to rest.

I read a post on a US car forum, apparently, someone with local area knowledge says theres a long straight road leading to the lake and the boat ramp.....probably how those cars ended up where they did......
night time, high speed, followed by an "oh, sh#t!" moment then blackness for 40 years......sad way to go, glad they found them, although all the parents have, apparently, passed on.

Leigh
