U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
HOT ROD was sick and tired of being kicked around by the Aussies. Love them and their supercharged four-doors though we do, we simply couldn’t let them continue to mock us with their superior hooligan skills. Rather than whining about it like some sort of teenage YouTube commenter, we took action.
This year at HOT ROD Power Tour 2013, presented by Chevrolet Performance and driven by Continental Tire, we took the Australians’ 69-car burnout record and blew smoke at it. The smoke of 73 tire-turning Power Tour cars, to be exact. That’s right, 74 cars lined up along the four lanes of zMax Dragway in North Carolina, and 73 of them spun ‘em till they won ‘em. (Truck guy, sorry, we saw you fail.) We all won ‘em really, because this record is for America. You’re welcome, America.
The “official” record is still pending approval by the Guinness Book of World Records.
