Musclecar Parade While Leaving Detroit Autorama
« on: May 10, 2013, 10:29:32 AM »
One of the major downfalls with most car shows is that the cars are sitting there, engines cooled, and all we get to do is gawk at how cool they are. But we rarely get to hear what they sound like, let alone watch them as they leave.

When it’s a local show, or perhaps a local Cars & Coffee, it’s evident that enthusiasts love to watch them leave, and love listening to the engines roar. The exits to these events are usually lined with spectators – most of them egging on the driver to get a little wheel spin action going.

The more organized the car show is, like inside buildings, for instance, the chance to hear these awesome machines is far less. We typically don’t get a chance to hang around for hours after the show ends and they start clearing the cars out.

The Detroit Autorama that took place in March of this year was one of those places where the cars were awesome and inspiring. But for most of us – and many of those who attended – the only memory we got was a photo gallery of cars sitting there, parked next to another cool car.

Thankfully, though, there are some serious die-hard enthusiasts who are willing to stick around after hours, staking out a prime location to capture some of these musclecars and hot rods as they fire up the engines and head out of the show. For those who capture these treats on video, we applaud you for having our best interests in mind, and for sharing with us the sweet sounds that resonate from the exhausts of these beautiful rides.

Seeing an awesome show car is very cool; the attention to detail, the craftsmanship, the hours on end that go into them is truly mind boggling. But the best part is when the engine fires up, and the car actually gets driven – rather than pushed – even if it’s only to an awaiting trailer. We’ve seen plenty of cars that require manpower instead of horsepower for motivation; so fire it up, and show us what it can do! Enjoy the three videos here, from YouTube user DtRockstar1.
