By now you’ve probably heard the news that starting in August, the United States Postal Service will stop delivering mail on Saturday. It is the end of an era as the USPS looks to cut massive fiscal losses. However, one tradition the USPS is keeping going is featuring American icons on their postage stamps.
The 1967 Shelby GT500 is one of five iconic American muscle cars that will be featured on postage stamps this year, reports Mustangs Daily. Best of all, these Forever Stamps will be good for as long as the USPS is around…though that might not be for much longer unless they get their fiscal house in order.
The 1967 Shelby GT500 is indeed an American icon, as are the other muscle cars to be featured on seperate stamps. The USPS selected the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, the 1966 Pontiac GTO, the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, and the 1970 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda to grace their stamp collection. These Muscle Car Forever Stamps won’t be around forever though, so if you want to add some Shelby flair to your postage, you better buy them while you can. You can get these muscle car postage stamps either online, or at your local USPS office…if they haven’t closed that down yet.
