Lots to Learn on Billet Specialties Shop Tour
« on: October 20, 2012, 12:02:35 PM »

For many of us with the automotive obsession, seeing shiny new parts to dress-up our rides, make them more reliable and perform at peak levels can stop us in our tracks. So an opportunity to look inside an industry leader’s manufacturing and production process for these coveted items is a real treat. This new video released by Billet Specialties gives us the opportunity to see not only how they create their products but also understand the philosophy behind their business.

Of course the object of any any commercial enterprise is to make a profit. But manufacturing businesses, especially those in the speed and custom industries, often take additional pride in the craftsmanship of products they create. The Billet Specialties video opens the company doors to reveal how they create, manufacture and distribute their products. They also tell us through conversations with the company’s top executives, who they are, how they got started and why they do things the way they do.

The cars used by Billet Specialties for testing their products also reflect the attitude of the company. The glimpse of the collection that we see in the video suggests that they  are certainly not the ordinary ‘test mules’ that you might see elsewhere. Products that can improve the performance and appearance of test subjects of this quality, will certainly satisfy the end user.

Knowledge is power but it can also be peace of mind. Knowing how parts and equipment that we use are made can give us confidence in what we purchase. Knowing that the people who make the products that we invest in have the same passion for the sport as we do assures us that our shared passion shows through in quality. Let’s hope that others in the industry follow Billet Specialties example and show us how they do what they do and why!

Really nice gear...their accessory belt drive system for Pontiac engines is a work of art...but man, the cost!!!! They're like $2300 for a drive system......you need to have a big budget to be able to suck that up when a set of V belt pulleys work fine.
