Help with car insurance

Shannons is the only place that gives me the option of actually using my car as a car, ie, I can drive it anywhere and park it anywhere anytime, as long as when it's at my house, it's garaged overnight.  Also, I'm not required to have any type of immobiliser or alarm.

I've enquired with other companies by filling in their online form.  When they call me back they ask, "what do you mean you drive it everyday??"  When I explain that it's the only car I own and I park it in the supermarket carpark when I go shopping, there's a moment's stoney silence on the phone followed by, "sorry, we don't insure them for that kind of use", or, "would you consider buying another car to drive around, because we'd really like to have your car on our books."

We are with LSV , there premium for the 55 olds and the mustang was $200 cheaper than the mustang alone with shannons and lsv gave me a extra $10,000 cover on the mustang compared to shannons, i know of one of our club members that  has a at fault claim with LSV at the moment , he told me they have been good.
cheers chris.

Its been very productive I just checked with LSV and my youngish 88 is considered a "modern classic" after 1985 , .I was able to maintain my present agreed value and all the perks
the only restriction was limited 4000km usage "light recreational use policy". I now have something to think over .Again thank you:bow:

Exactly! I do about 8,000 klm per yer.  Shannons upped my value when I changed the engine (and added the wheels and other stuff) by $20,000 to $85,000 and then dropped the premium to below what it was when I just mentioned LSV!  I'm happy.  Had one claim and they were great.

I should mention Lsv to Shannons next time to see if they would up my value?  At this stage Lsv is very tight with the agreed value.
