One would be easy for you and one would be hard for you.

Guess which one the RTA will make you do.

I'd have put a number on it before I got it inspected.

??????... How did you get a blue slip without an engine number?
Your blue slip guy should have lodged a request for an engine number beforehand, then RTA issues a surrogate number that has to be stamped on to the engine block, reinspected again than you can be issued with the blue slip.
That was the procedure when i was doing blue slips anyways.

Chris is right. Seeing the blue slip guy hasn't put a number, you can't just stick one on now.  The rta will issue one.

Not much longer!

I'm a little confused also, He did call the RTA about the lack of engine number and they told him that they would issue me one but they didnt give me a temporary one? So how are they going to send me one? he didnt give them any of my details?? SO do I just make up something and try and register it?

Going back to what Chris said, you'll need identifying numbers on both the chassis and the engine, before the RTA will let you register it.  The RTA will issue you with an engine number that has to be stamped on the block and verified before they'll register it.

Andy, I don't know what happens 'today'.  Back in ye olde days, when you would take your car to the RTA for a pit inspection for an original registration, they would stamp it on for you.

Thats the thing, if they give me a number, I could stamp it and take it back the same day to show them or who ever?
