IF you are intending to import a car from the USA be cautious on your selection of importing company.

I suggest you read one unfortunate story, still unfolding, for a MOCA member.

I read that complete 4 page story
WHY would you decide to buy a project car ........send someone that far (4500 miles)to look at it to verify its condition THEN after sending the money across decide that the car is not for you ???????? THAT should have been decided WAY before sending money across to buy the car !

I actually think i feel sorry for the guy stuck in the states more than the guy who reneged on a purchase
importer would have already had container etc sorted to bring everything in to Aus and then had to hold up other peoples cars/cargo all because someone got cold feet on their purchase AND  explain to the seller that the purchaser from Aus had simply "changed his mind"

Internet forums are a great tool .........however personally they are also great for spreading crap as well !
yes $18000 is a lot of money so BEFORE committing /sending money overseas be sure it is what you want !!!!!!!

How many people have dealt with this importer in the past ??????? he was recommended from the Moca forums so i assume he has brought other cars in for members of that club

think that there is a LOT more to this story than meets the eye ,possibly on BOTH sides !

Always use a trusted importer to bring n your car/parts its the only way to be safe

just like picking your builder/renovator when doing work to your house

There are plenty of good cars already here , so if your not sure , be safe and buy here , especially if its your first.

I think some folk try too hard and try to scrimp and kanive to save, but all in all you get what you payed for. By paying more in the first place and getting all the checks done or buying local its just like an insurance policy.
When I blew 15k on my engine I didn't expect anyone to come to my rescue, all in all if you cant afford for any sh!t to happen you shouldn't have jumped aboard in the first place.
Sorry if I sound so cold buy I am hearing too many sob stories lately, get over it and get on with it.;2
