Bad news Chris sorry to hear however, I ran one for 7 years without an issue.

Is it just a roller cam thing or is it all cam types in windsor's?

high dave , nothing to do with cam but they might have changed  the spring that controlls pressure on your pump to reduce pressure and they might have drilled out the galley that feeds oil to  the dizzy gear , none of that was done to mine all in all you don't need a high volume pump unless you run big bearing clearances for racing (which i don't )and if you are going to rev over 7000rpm , with 408 cubes this engine was not desighned to rev  more than 6000-6300 , im running a dual plane manifold (rpm air gap) and a 750vac carby ,it will make a sh@t lot of power and torque  under 6000rpm , if you do the reaserch you will find excess oil pressure on a ford windsor can and will chew dizzy gears and cam gears, not saying you can't run a high volume oil pump but once you modify them for a ford windsor they don't have much more pressure than a stock one.
the dizzy gears on chevs are twice the size and don't have this problem.
cheers chris.

Yes. 242/248@50 ,608/614 lift, 110lsa ,solid roller , more than enough.
by the way click on link http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engine/hdrp_0607_joe_sherman_built_ford_windsor/photo_04.html
800hp with standard pump 15-30 psi at idle and 50-60psi at 9000rpm, mine had 50 psi at idle ,what were they thinking.

I am in no way trying to compete here but mine had 70psi at (normal street driving) idle and about 90psi cold and about 50psi all day long at Wakefield pk ;w ......Maybe I was blessed ;4

When do we get to see the dyno run on video? ;11

No maybe you had someone that new more about ford engines build yours , ive read that drilling the oil gallery that feeds the dizzy gear can make a big difference ,you might have had loose clearances due to you were racing it , most of the cam manufacturers do not recomend using HV oil pumps for ford small blocks, as for dyno , when they have sorted this issue and ive done at least 1000ks

Love to andy but the tail shaft snapped in half  on the dyno and has made a mess under the car , smashed my magna flow mufflers riped a 1 foot long 1 inch wide gash under the floor , destroyed the rear transmission housing , the car is now at my transmission mechanic , ill be going tomorrow morning to strip the interior so we can repair the rip on the floor , BTW it made 407hp @wheels on the first power run when it snapped.

Hi cpu a tail shaft loop would not have helped as it snapped in the middle , it was the section on the diff side that did the most of the damage .
As for fitting a tail shaft loop , i basicly have one , there is a plate on convertibles that goes from left to right under where the tail shaft goes into the box where the uni's are which acts as a loop.
cheers chris.
ps. tail shaft loops are more desighned for when uni's fail.
